Where is the Landfill site located?
The Northam Landfill site is located on Old Quarry Road.
When is the Landfill site open*?
Open 7 days per week between 8am and 4:30pm.
Closed on Christmas Day and on Good Friday.
Resident Information
Residential passes are available for Northam residents which allows 10 free visits for general waste and 6 free visits for green waste per financial year. The pass entitles the resident to dispose of domestic waste only free of charge. Residents can deposit waste for free in cars, utilities, vans and trailers not exceeding 1.8m x 1.2m x .06m. Charges will apply to dispose of waste including asbestos, tyres, waste oil exceeding 30L, animal bodies, commercial waste, and residential loads exceeding 1.8m x 1.2m x .06m.
EFTPOS facilities are available. All charges are to be paid to the gatehouse before leaving.
Commercial Information
The Shire of Northam can offer an account service to large operators. All accounts must be applied for and approved before waste can be disposed at the landfill site. Please contact the Shire of Northam if you would like to arrange an account.

- Unadulterated Building Rubble – brick, concrete, rock, soil, greenwaste
- Asbestos
- Animal bodies

- Waste Oil

Where can I take my recyclables?
There are recycling collection points at the Landfill site and on Peel Terrace (across from the Caltex petrol station). There is no charge to dispose of your recyclable materials at either of these sites.

Inkpen Waste Disposal Site
Where is the Waste Disposal Site located?
The Inkpen Waste Disposal Site is located on Inkpen Road near Wundowie.
When is the Landfill site open*?
9.00am – 5.00pm Saturdays & Sundays
9.00 am - 3.00 pm Tuesdays & Thursdays
Weekdays and public holidays that don't fall on one of the normal opening days of Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday.
If a public holiday falls on a normal opening day, the site will be open on that day.
Closed on Mondays except for public holidays.

Bendering Landfill Site
Avon Waste operates the Landfill Site located in Bendering for shires in RoeRoC. The members of RoeRoC are:
- Shire of Corrigin
- Shire of Kondinin
- Shire of Kulin
- Shire of Narembeen
All waste collected from these shires is taken to the Bendering Landfill site for disposal. All waste is compacted before being covered with soil to eliminate windblown waste exiting the site and to eliminate odours and vermin.
All waste is weighed before being deposited at the tipping face.
This site is not open to members of the public. This facility only receives refuse from the RoeRoC shires unless other arrangements have been made.
